My Story

From SEN specialist to founder, and back to the classroom, by choice.

Thirteen years ago I set out to help children who learn differently. Along the way I built something of my own. Here’s the journey, and where it’s heading next.

Where it began

My career started in the detail of daily practice, one child, one goal, one small breakthrough at a time. Working across structured ABA settings and inclusive schools, I learned that real progress rarely comes from a single technique. It comes from reading each child accurately, designing intervention around them, and holding steady while trust is built.

Over the years I moved from delivering intervention to shaping it: writing individualised education programmes, coordinating with therapists and parents, and mentoring the educators coming up behind me.

Building Pragyasha

Eventually the conviction outgrew the settings I was working in. I founded Pragyasha, an independent therapy centre for children with autism, learning difficulties and other special needs, because I believed intervention should be designed around the child, not squeezed into someone else’s timetable.

I built it from the ground up: the service model, the assessment and intake protocols, the IEP-led pathways, the standards of care. I recruited and trained the team, set the clinical bar, and stayed close to the families who trusted us with their children. Running a practice taught me things no single role could, how to lead people, design programmes, manage stakeholders, and carry responsibility for outcomes end to end.

Under one roof, Pragyasha brought together the full range of support a child might need, my job was to design the programmes, set the standards, and hold it all together:

Special education & remedial teaching ABA & behaviour therapy Speech & language therapy Occupational & sensory-integration therapy Early intervention Social-skills groups Parent guidance & home programmes

What I stand for

The beliefs behind the practice

Illustration of an adult and child with a heart, representing family partnership

Child first, always

Every plan starts with the individual child, their strengths, their sensory world, their pace, not a template.

Evidence, not guesswork

ABA, structured assessment and measurable IEP goals keep intervention honest and progress visible.

Families as partners

Parents are co-therapists. When home and school align, children move faster and gains hold.
